A quiet room. A clear line. Regular practice.

Adults and teens train aikido by the lake — ukemi, weapons basics and randori without the tournament noise.

What we do

Beginner cycle

Eight weeks: rolls, posture, first techniques.

Regular keiko

Mixed level, weapons on Saturday mornings.

Seminars

Guest instructors twice a year, open to visitors.

Ukemi first

Falls and posture before fancy technique. Aikido Nord-du-Lac would rather a quiet beginner than an injured show-off.

Weapons basics

Bokken and jo on the Saturday grid — not a YouTube catalogue.

Visitor etiquette

How to bow in, where to sit, what not to film. We tell you before you arrive.

Who this is for

Adults from 14

Who want a mat, not a tournament circuit.

Returning students

Who already know how to be quiet in a dojo.

Guest practitioners

For seminar weekends, with their own hakama or ours if we have spare.

How a typical job runs

  1. 1. Write for the timetable

Age, any injuries, which night you can hold. Beginners start on a published Monday.

  2. 2. First month

Eight weeks of rolls, posture and first techniques. Beginner cycle.

  3. 3. Regular keiko

Mixed level. The teacher still takes ukemi.

  4. 4. Seminars

Guest instructors twice a year. Visitors welcome when we say so.

About Aikido Nord-du-Lac

We keep a small mat, a fixed weekly grid and a teacher who still takes ukemi. Beginners start on the first Monday of the month.

Adults and teens train aikido by the lake — ukemi, weapons basics and randori without the tournament noise. The lake is nearby; the noise stays outside.

Aikido Nord-du-Lac keeps a small mat on purpose. If we are full, the wait list is real. If you want MMA highlights, this is the wrong door.

Injuries and knees first. We would rather adapt a technique than collect a story.

Questions people actually ask

Do I need experience?
No. The beginner cycle is built for that. Ego is optional and unhelpful.
What do I wear?
Clean training clothes for the first nights. Gi details after you stay.
Is there sparring?
Randori, not a cage. We explain the difference on the mat.
Can I watch first?
Yes, if you sit still and do not film. Write before you come.
Fees?
On a sheet. No hidden belt shop.
